(NASHVILLE) – State Senator Ferrell Haile, R-Gallatin, officially began his fourth full term in the Tennessee Senate on Tuesday, January 14th, as he took the Oath of Office during the opening session of the 114th General Assembly. The ceremony took place in the Senate Chamber in Nashville, where other newly elected and reelected senators were also sworn in to their new terms. On Thursday, Haile was also reappointed chairman of the Speaker Pro Tempore by Lt. Governor McNally.

“It is an honor to continue to serve District 18 in the Senate," said Haile. "As a father, farmer, and small business owner I recognize the importance of protecting children, advancing Tennessee’s robust agricultural industry and maintaining Tennessee’s business friendly environment. And as a lifelong Tennessean, I share the same conservative values that have made Tennessee one of the very best states in the nation, and I will work hard to uphold those values in the Tennessee Senate. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve and look forward to the important work we will accomplish this year.”

Lt. Gov. McNally praised Senator Haile after appointing him as chairman.

“Ferrell Haile is a true public servant with unquestionable integrity,”said Lt. Gov. McNally. “He has led this critically important committee for many years. I am confident his excellent leadership will continue.”
