Senator Joey Hensley takes Oath of Office as 114th General Assembly Convenes

(NASHVILLE) – State Senator Joey Hensley, R-Hohenwald, officially began his fourth term in the Tennessee Senate on Tuesday as he took the Oath of Office during the opening session of the 114th General Assembly. The ceremony took place in the Senate Chamber in Nashville, where other newly elected and reelected senators were also sworn in to their new terms.
“Thank you for allowing me to serve you in the Tennessee State Senate," said Hensley. "As a lifelong Tennessean, I understand the importance of protecting our shared conservative values in Tennessee. I look forward to working with my colleagues and the Governor to make Tennessee the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
Sen. Hensley was re-elected in November to serve another four-year term. First elected to the Tennessee State Senate in 2012, Hensley has served as a Senator for the last 13 years. Additionally, Senator Hensley serves as Deputy Speaker and currently is a member of the following committees: Finance, Education, and Health. Prior to being a Senator, Hensley served in the Tennessee House, for five terms. Beyond his legislative duties, Senator Hensley is a licensed physician.
A lifelong resident of Middle Tennessee, Senator Hensley lives in Hohenwald. He is a proud father of three.
