About Chairman Yager
Chairman Ken Yager has dedicated his career to public service. Prior to being elected to the Tennessee Senate in 2008, Yager served as County Executive of Roane County for over 20 years. In 2018, the Republican Senators elected him Chairman of the Senate Republican Caucus. In this position, he provides leadership and resources to advance conservative values in the Senate. Prior to serving as Senate Republican Caucus Chair, Yager served as the Chair to the Senate State and Local Government Committee.
Yager is a tireless advocate for Senate District 12. He works hard to improve economic opportunities, enhance education, strengthen public safety and keep taxes low so citizens in his district have the opportunity to thrive.
Yager graduated from UT Martin with a B.A. and M.S. He also graduated from the University of Memphis Law School with a J.D.
Yager lives in Kingston with his wife Malinda. They have two adult children.
