About Leader Johnson

Jack Johnson was elected by his Senate Republican colleagues to lead the Caucus as Majority Leader in 2018. In this leadership role, he works closely with the governor and the Senate to guide key legislation that supports the priorities of the state’s executive branch, while also championing bills that address issues important to the Senate and the people of Tennessee.

Johnson was first elected to the Tennessee Senate in 2006 and has proudly represented Tennessee’s conservative values since his first day in office.

As a father of three, protecting children is a top priority for Leader Johnson. He is dedicated to safeguarding children from harmful transgender medical interventions, advocating for the unborn, and advancing school choice to empower parents to make the best decisions for their children’s education. Additionally, he works hard to strengthen border security to ensure the safety and well-being of Tennessee communities. With over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, Leader Johnson understands fiscal responsibility and remains committed to being a careful steward of taxpayer dollars.

Leader Johnson has been a resident of Middle Tennessee since graduating from Texas State University. He and his wife, Deanna, have three children and live in Franklin, Tennessee. Leader Johnson proudly represents the 23rd District in the Tennessee State Senate.
